I still enjoyed the characters and the ideas it introduced. But hey, sometimes even the worst movies ever are worth watching for yourself. Happy that you’re not listening to all the haters.

I would like to at least be told somehow what happens to them, allow Dane Whitman to exist as his Black Knight character, and do something about the giant statue still in the ocean. Some sort of closure if not a sequel.

I thought it was a nice change of pace, compared to a lot of other MCU movies it's visually breathtaking, and I thought all of the performances were pretty fantastic. It also had my favorite on screen depiction of super speed, I really loved Makkari in this. It's a divisive film for sure though lol

I couldn't make it through more than 20 minutes of the movie. Never tried to watch it after that. I really enjoyed watching you watch it Ashleigh. And I agreed with your comments at the end. So happy you are always willing to watch anything!

2024-08-01 15:46:46 +0000 UTCMost Marvel fans were of the opinion that Eternals was a movie. It is becoming clear that Kevin Fiege is not the genius everyone thought he was. My understanding is there was a committee of actual Marvel Comics writers who mapped out at least the broad strokes of the plot of Hulk through Endgame. Stan Lee I'm sure was consulted and Joss Wheadon and James Gunn contributed ideas. Those guys are all gone now and it shows.

Each viewing increased my liking a little more. It's a bit long, but I think it also has a lot going for it too. I'm not mad about doing the watchalong for this one at all.

2024-08-01 14:23:15 +0000 UTCSaw this in the theatre. Meh. Like, literally, meh. Didn't hate it, but didn't like it, either. It was like when they made the Inhumans tv show. It was so boring, I didn't even make it past the 2nd episode. The only reason we watched it was to see O'ahu, where we lived at the time. Anyway.... No spoilers, but for a very long time, this movie felt like a complete waste of time, money, and manpower. Maybe that will change in the not-too-distant future. 😉
