Fox doesn't know shit and doesn't care either. Hell, like as not all the suits from '02-'05 are gone now anyway... If you like The Shepherd's Tale, consider diving into the Serenity comics rabbit hole. There is an order to them (with a few stand-alone ones like the one you have), so start from #1 'Those Left Behind'. These stories take place after the movie. There are also 8 actual novels (going on 9 hopefully in July). The Firefly Books supposedly take place between ep 14 and the movie, but I find that timeline dubiously compressed. Really good stuff though, and - to me - they read just like the TV show would sound and look.
