EARLY ACCESS: Footloose

So much 80's. So much Kevin Bacon.  So much better than Dirty Dancing.

EARLY ACCESS: Footloose

Comments

I wouldn't mind seeing "Flashdance" as it will introduce Ashleigh to Michael Nouri who also stars in one of the flicks I sent her the 1987 cult sci-fi actioner "The Hidden"

Paul Johnson

I will request The 1974 Gone in 60 Seconds be on a poll for March. It is directed stars H.B. Helaki who was a stunt driver and owned a junkyard where they got most of the vehicles used in it. He even died while doing another movie in a crash. Must see stuff

Mr Marvelous

16 Candles has really not aged well. It's A LOT more offensive than it is funny, with rape jokes and racism galore. It'll be an interesting watch.

Ayah Setel

One of my all time favourites! It even has a young Shannon Doherty, Helen Hunt and Jonathan Silverman. Free on Amazon Prime if anyone wants to watch.

Andrea Oliver

Whenever you get around to it, I'd love to see your reaction to Annie from 1982 if you haven't seen it before. The cast is just phenomenal (Tim Curry! Albert Finney! Carol Burnett! Bernadette Peters!) and I think you'd really enjoy it. I was absolutely obsessed with it as a kid, my sister and I were Annie probably like 4 Halloweens in a row. 😂

Laura Neary Smith

Hopefully, Ashleigh, you can appreciate that SQUIRREL moment I just went through because I rewatched the "Footloose" review. LOL

First, so glad you loved this so much! Now, story time. When you mentioned seeing Kevin Bacon in "Friday the 13th" I thought, wait she reviewed "Tremors" not that long ago. So I searched for that and had to rewatch that review. Love that review again BTW. Then you mentioned how Fred Ward, Earl, could get it. I was like yes! He is one of my very favorite, eye candy, actors. Then I remembered a little movie called "Big Business" with Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler, and Fred Ward. Silly but fun one from 1988. I'd like to see you review "Big Business". Please?!?

The Flashdance soundtrack is really good. Plus, there are a lot of memorable scenes. It would keep the 80's theme going for sure. 👍

Lynette Cummins

Cough cough Girls Just Wanna Have Fun should be on your list!

Dirty Dancing. Footloose. So is FLASHDANCE (1983) next???

AmyGENX

"Footloose" is obviously meant to be cliched and cheesy -- it's basically a giant music video -- but kudos to the filmmakers for casting Lithgow as Strict Preacher Dad. That character could've easily just been a cartoon bad guy.

Paul Stelter

If you love John Lithgow as an alien in "3rd Rock" then...when can we get the reaction to him as an alien in "Buckaroo Banzai"?!

Paul Stelter

Andy, the owner of the mill, was Old Smokey from Fried Green Tomatoes.

Now you just need to see "Flashdance".

Meredith Shivers

Okay so if you love Sarah Jessica Parker, you must watch a dance movie that she actually starred in after this one called Girls Just Want to Have Fun! It’s also very 80’s and I love it way more than this one, I’ve seen it probably fifty times. She’s super cute in it and there’s so much dancing!
