Grateful for the condense version on this one. This movie is a snore. For more Patrick Swayze, you need to add "Roadhouse" to a poll. I may be wrong, but I think you see his bare butt in that one. And it's got all kinds of over the top fight scenes and stuff.

2022-02-06 21:57:06 +0000 UTCFun facts - The mom in this film is played by Kelly Bishop who is better known to Gilmore Girls fans as Grandma Emily Gilmore. But Kelly is also a Tony winner - she won Best Featured Actress for her role as Sheila in the original Broadway production of "A Chorus Line". This is why they had her say the line "I think she gets this from me" during the end dance scene - it was a nod to her Broadway past. I grew up in the 80's (I was 13 when this came out) and while I enjoyed the movie, I loved the soundtrack, especially "She's Like the Wind". Swayze really was a triple-threat and it is a shame he wasn't utilized to his full potential. While Roadhouse is a lot of fun, I would have loved for him to have steered away from the action realm and more into musicals and comedies. I really wish he was still around to be a part of the recent renaissance of musicals that has been happening.

2022-02-06 18:26:01 +0000 UTCI definitely think you had to watch it. I LOVED this movie. It came out when I was 11 or 12. And I thought it was amazing. I watched it on VHS over and over and over. I could relate to Baby sitting in the backseat of the car on vacation just wondering how to grow up and all those expectations parents put on you and how do you break beyond that dynamic. Also, I have heard Jennifer Gray and Patrick Swayze hated each other. Also, I worked with a girl who was Patrick Swayze’s cousin. 🤷🏻♀️
