2022-02-04 13:29:07 +0000 UTCthe writers/director wanted it to be animated iirc but the studio that had the rights to Howard pressured lucas and the rest to get it done sooner so Lucas suggested it could be done live-action. And that helped kill how good the project could have been. completely changed the movie.

2022-02-03 23:49:55 +0000 UTC"Howard the Duck" was a pretty bad movie, but George Lucas thought it was going to be the big thing after he made Star Wars and Indiana Jones. There have been a couple of attempts to bring him into the MCU as his own thing rather than just the occasional cameo, but thus far they haven't panned out.

I had more fun watching your reaction than I had watching the movie. 😆 So excited to do the watch along for Dirty Dancing! And very happy that Footloose higher on your radar now.
