As an occupational therapist that works with a population with differing abilities and working towards their integration into mainstream society, I value characters like Edward in media, that showcase that individuals with handicaps, so to speak, arenβt freaks but human; and that itβs perfectly ok to be different and that everyone no matter what has value and are able to contribute to the world around them.
