EARLY ACCESS: Edward Scissorhands

I don't think I've ever disliked a character as much as I dislike Kim in this movie.  Johnny Depp never ceases to amaze though.

EARLY ACCESS: Edward Scissorhands

I'm very hit or miss on him. Beetlejuice was more fun at the time but I'm not as hot on it now. I'd say Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, and Big Fish are my favorites, and Mars Attacks is a chaotic mess but I kinda love it.

I think I have learned that I am not a Tim Burton fan. I can watch about two of his films. No harm, no foul.

It's been upvoted well in the comments every time I've seen it brought up (or I brought it up myself). Hopefully that traction catches her eye eventually.

Without Kim's insensitivity towards Edward, the film would need some other personage to be insensitive... This was just the screenwriter's choice...

As reviews at the time agreed on, this is one of those movies where the music hypnotizes you into thinking that there was some actual sentimental POINT to the story, and then, an hour after seeing it, darned if you can figure out what that point was. 🤔

Why, because it’s winter, or because you’ve never seen Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau in “The Odd Couple” or “The Fortune Cookie”?

Please add Tim Burton’s first feature film to your next poll, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure! It’s in my top 10 of all time and never fails to put a smile on my face.

Wait....I thought Ashleigh said she loved deviled ham. You know, put it on a cracker. Gourmet stuff. Am I wrong?

Jacob Colson

So afew years after Depp got killed by a man with knives for fingers, he plays a man with scissors for fingers.. coincidence?

Now for Grumpier Old Men!!!

I love this film beyond words. It's my favorite Tim Burton piece. After watching the full length reaction and this - it really felt like you didn't like this movie at all and that you weren't emotionally invested in the slightest. That's heartbreaking for me! I also really loved Kim. Sure, she had some poor choice moments but she's a teenager. She didn't understand what he was until the end. Nobody did, aside from Peg. No one gave him any sort of chance all throughout except for her. Kim may not be the most kind but she's very far from being hated or disliked by me, I feel. She was just a confused teenager girl going through some tough teenager moments in her life. Every time I watch this, I'm in t ears at the end. Doesn't matter who I'm watching this with. I'm in tears. Pleasantly surprised that you gave this 4/5 stars, despite it not having the emotional impact with you as it always had (and has) with me. I'm glad that you enjoyed movie anyway. I would not be surprised if your hubby hasn't seen this. It wasn't widely watched but it was definitely enjoyed by those who did. :) Also, here at the end - the way you say her name irks me each time I hear it. I've always said WINona not WINEona. That's a personal gripe, I don't know if that bugs anybody else.

I am glad this and Gremlins 2 were removed from Jingle Beans consideration. That was the correct choice... but Gremlins 2 another time!

Great review of my least favorite Tim Burton movie. You're so great at this!
