Pulp Fiction Watch Along

I'm still in the camp that Jackie Brown should be next. But I'm biased in that I not only don't like Reservoir Dogs, I actually would call it the one truly bad film Tarantino has made.

Yeah, I keep seeing other suggest the later stuff like Kill Bill, but I think it's better to watch Reservoir Dogs first. His films get more stylized as they go along, so watching RD after the others feels weird since it's far more grounded.

I've never seen it but watched the vid on youtube with Ashleigh. I guess I should at some point. The only Quentin Tarantino movies I have seen is Inglourious Basterds and Natural Born Killers.

Vincent is in the can all the time because he's a heroin addict. Heroin causes constipation. My favorite Tarantino movies, whenever you get to them, are Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained.

so, theres a movie called true romance, written by tarantino but directed by tony scott, and it has EVERYONE in it. its so so good and only one channel has reacted to it i believe.

It lasted long enough. He had hit after hit from Pulp Fiction up to Battlefield Earth. He gave us some all-time 90s classics.

I dig Tarantino movies. There are problematic things, but I find them all fun to watch. Dusk Till Dawn is his, and it's one of the bloodiest movies...Holy Cow all the blood!!

Moment of clarity for me during this. Ashleigh makes some "uncomfortable" faces during some of the racial slurs, but doesn't even flinch at a lot of the even worse ones. Then it hit me; I think as a millennial a lot of them are so out of use she didn't recognize them as such.

I first saw this several years after it came out and wasn't really impressed by all the hype surrounding it. But watching it again today with you Ashleigh I really enjoyed the movie. Maybe I wasn't ready then for his style of storytelling. And have to looked at what Tarantino looks like to see if you could spot him in the film?

Jackie Brown doesn't get the love that is should. It is one of Tarantino's best. Reservoir Dogs is still my favorite but all his early movies are joy rides! To me anyway I know they are not for everyone.

Tarantino's filmography is a RIDE. You are going to hate some of it, love some of it, but you will never be bored. For me, Jackie Brown is his best, but this is a very, very close second.
