Angel x Vanta [ FINAL + Behind the Scenes ]

I recently finished this picture for the lovely Mixchievier!

They asked for me to draw their character, Vanta, with Angel from X-Men Apocalypse! Angel is my all-time favorite character, so naturally I had a wonderful time working on this. <3

I recorded a speedpaint as well, which I will upload in the future if you guys desire it :D

But for now, here is the final piece + 8 different work-in-progress shots!

1) Thumbnails! I had a couple different ideas and let Mixchievier choose which one I continued on with. They chose #3! I ended up deviating from the thumbnail's expressions as the image progressed. But still, having a solid thumbnail design always helps!

2) I blocked in a background using various images. I envisioned them laying in the X-Mansion's garden, so was toying around with that idea.

3) Using many references, I started lining the image! Drawing faces is always my favorite part (anD ANGELS TITTES OK 😳😳😳😳 ))

4) FINISHED LINING and started blocking in the base colors!

6) Messed around with the background a bit more + got some mood lighting in here!

7) I always work in Clip Studio Paint to draw. For this step, I brought the image into Photoshop and messed around with the colors. Also added some sun rays for extra sHINEEEE

8) Moving back into Clip Studio Paint, I added some final shading + lighting touches <3
