It makes sense, it works narratively, and it's pretty cool. But yeah, I do agree with what Pixie was saying. General of the Army seems a little much. The Allies can handle the Axis with what they're currently doing; it's Hydra that's the problem, and they're a terrorist organization rather than a country, so it doesn't seem necessary in my opinion to give him even nominal control over the entire Army just to respond to Hydra. Maybe give him his own small command or establish a new organization specifically oriented for handling things like this. Similar to SHIELD in some ways, tasked with information gathering, searching for metahumans and attempting to recruit them, and slowly building a team of superheroes for Captain to lead. Still a good chapter btw. If you stick with this I wouldn't mind, 'cus I'm kinda curious what he could do with so much administrative power on top of all his super-power. Like he could draw up and define the entire frontline while at the same time he personally destroys entire divisions. That amount of power is insane. On the other hand maybe being General of the Army is mostly meant as a ceremonial thing and he's not actually going to exercise that power too much or too often? If so that could get rid of most of the problem because then he'd be able to focus on being on the frontline, letting the Generals do their own thing, and in the meantime PERSONALLY being the one to create that specialized organization Pixie and I are talking about. There are a bunch of different directions you could take this. Pretty awesome dude!

There's a reason why the MCU had the second ant man be the first also great foreshadowing that you're going to meet magneto now that you have the authority of a five-star general

2024-07-13 05:35:01 +0000 UTCI find General of the Army a little too ridiculous even for a fiction. General of the Army is in command of all land forces on all fronts including non-Hydra fronts. I think giving him some form of immunity to act however he wants and command over the German Front would be more realistic.
