again i loved this movie! so far john wick has been great and the ending of this movie has me on the edge of my seat for the next movie!!!

I don't know if there's any lore significance to the fact that Winston loves to call him Jonathan. With the appearance of respect, or perhaps snideness. It's in such a specific way. Like that's the long form for John, and he's addressing him like a elder, teacher, parent. But it's traditionally not. That's the long form for Jon. John is short for Johannes. Interestingly, when he phones through the excommunication, he uses the name everyone else does. John Wick. I have no idea if there is a past life detail, or it's very simply just a lazy presumptive writing mistake that they went with because it sounds good.
