Gleep Glossary: A Star Wars Story #70 - Exar Kun
Added 2024-10-17 10:00:15 +0000 UTC
On this month's edition of our Star Wars Gleep Glossary, we're chatting about one of the galaxy's OG badasses, Exar Kun!
As we learn this week, Exar Kun was originally a heroic Jedi who turned to the Dark Side and became a powerful Sith Lord. He was also the first guy to wield a double-sided lightsaber! And Kun was also one of those tricky Siths that managed to come back from the dead! PLUS: The show accidentally starts shifting toward becoming a Tulsa King podcast—wait, what?
Gleep Glossary: A Star Wars Story is a show where the guys try to honor the history and legacy of Star Wars characters, most of whom we've been told don't matter anymore!
Thank you for being so incredible by continuing to support this weird, wild adventure we're on! You make this all possible! We know you have lots of options when choosing which pods you listen to and we very much appreciate you carving out some time for us!

Tulsa Kingcast would convince to watch the second season. Even if I have to bear the Jelly Roll episode

If I got trapped being a wall guy I would entertain my self by remembering the plots of my favorite tv shows.

In the awful books Exar Kun's ghost gets killed by Han and Leia's son who is possessed by Luke's consciousness and he's jumping around like Kermit in Muppet Treasure Island.
If the Glossary ever gets to Corran Horn you're gonna be in for some hilarious shit.

A Talkin' Tulsa podcast will easily be better than the Talk Tuah podcast.

Listened to early half the episode during my lunch and no Tulsa King mentions so far. Really excited for the back half of the episode for all the sweet sweet "Tulsa Talk"®.

My uncle loves Tulsa King, but because of his Québécois accent, he pronounces it "Toll Sucking".

RIP to the Gleep Glossary you were the reason I started subscribing to the patreon. I’ll miss your general don’t give a fuck format, the way it seems like it always gets recorded last in the schedule, the dazzling mispronunciations and Eric spamming an amazing soundboard.
I guess it’s time to embrace Tulsa King and Jelly Roll as the dark lords of boomertainment. My only hope is that the void is not cold and empty like Exar Kun learns after his death in “Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War”.
This pre-prequel EU stuff is my favorite. They were created before there was such tight tight corporate control over everything that came out with a Star Wars logo on it, so they’re weird, melodramatic and have a lot of over the top 90s artwork. There’s no Skywalkers and so n so’s great great grandad doesn’t show up. Its kinda everything we were hoping for with the prequels that we never got: Mandalorian army, an eclectic alien Jedi, creative uses of the force and expanding on what it is (and it’s not little people in blood) it’s all on the marvel comics app, but the reading order is a mess and impossible to figure out without a wiki. RIP GLEEP GLOSSARY, LONG LIVE TULSAPEDIA

A guy so badass and deadly, Disney had to delete him because it was "off Brand."

Just putting this out there - if you guys were to ever re-release your live shows on dvd or blu-ray, I'd buy it. Not sure if the licensing would allow you to do this or not, but it would be great to go back and watch them all again.

Hell yeah! I remember this guy from reading the Jedi academy Trilogy as a kid--which I began revisiting last week in prep for this, but am still working my way through. Can't wait to hear you guys merciless mock of the gleaps and the glops! Y'all remain the best. Happy 12th? Spooktacular! Can't wait for that mailbag. Don't forget to wear the Blue!
