MELR0210 #77 90210's "The Kindness of Strangers" & Melrose Place's "Devil with the G-String On"

It's the September edition of our sexy, sunny, So-Cal TV recap show!

First up on Beverly Hills, 90210, it's the Thanksgiving-set episode, "The Kindness of Strangers"! Originally airing November 25, 1992, this episode features Dylan and his dad arguing over whether Jack can get laid on Thanksgiving, Steve Sanders and his mom getting sold a bill of goods from a reality TV show production, and Brandon bringing home his homeless veteran friend from the beach club only to have Jim Walsh spit in this guy's face!

Then, across town on Melrose Place, it's the outrageously titled, "Devil with the G-String On"! Premiering back on May 11, 1994, this seedy episode features Kimberly shaking down Jane for some back payment on the design studio, Alison trying (and failing) to not tell Jake about Amanda and Chas getting it on at the office, Jake tracking down and beating up Sarah's abusive boyfriend who threw Jo down the stairs, and Billy allowing Michael (for some reason) to plan his bachelor party and the fellas wind up bumping into Sydney working at the strip club—whoops!

MELR0210 is a WHM podcast where the guys blissfully stroll through the Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place timelines. The TV episodes covered will run in broadcast order.

Thanks so much for continuing to support the WHM Patreon! We know you have a lot of options when it comes to podcast entertainment and we're grateful you chose to spend some time with us. You're way cooler than Dylan McKay!

Why don't you guys watch it on DVD so you're hearing the music and watching the show as it originally aired. Just a thought.

Kinda thought Jo was going to have a Mis-stair-iage

Okay, what's the tea on our boys maybe having to pay someone to go away?? Has Ben "Bean Dinner" Worcester become an unhinged stalker??

Rose Esposito

Eric’s wet towel comment also made me crash my car. 😆

Ryan Horn

Saved by the Bell did the "adopt the homeless" plot better when Zach Morris took in a homeless family during Christmas just so he can score with the hot daughter. Classic Zack Morris movie.

I wish these episodes were more than once a month.

Thought the 90210 episode was weirdly cozy this month. Dark and stormy during the Thanksgiving holiday? Not too shabby. Although now that I imagine it's just raining cum, perhaps it's not so cozy.

Imagine a crossover with Jim Walsh meeting Michael Mancini

Mike Kling

I’m so glad you agree! I was watching it with my wife after listening to this podcast and in short order started yelling the exact same theory. Honestly, Kimberly Shaw’s origin story is so close to Harley Quinn’s someone could be sued.

Bryce Zubriski

Melrose Place is the origin story of how Dr. Michael Mancini and Dr. Kimberly Shaw became the Joker and Harley Quinn of 90's Los Angeles.

Why was Brandon pale as Nosferatu in this ep? Get some grapefruit in ya, kid. Jesus!

Eren Keskin

I love that the gang has finally reached crazy Kimberly times in Melrose Place. She’s started Golluming and they’re right on the cusp of full on, balls out, bonkers super villain shit. I just can’t wait.

Bryce Zubriski

It’s an interesting month to listen and find out that you share a name with a 90210 guest star… thank god for headphones.

Christine J

Highlight of my month, every month! Thanks guys.

Brendan LeFebvre

Melrose should win just for "Why do you smell like Chaz Palminteri's taint?"

James C Harris

That's why sometimes you got to stop and smell the...uh, yknow what, never mind.

Mark Ibarra

When I woke up this morning, I wasn't expecting to hear "every last queef" in Andrew Jupin's voice today. Life comes at you fast.

Tim O'Connor

The homeless vet is a Gulf War vet? Yeah, that was a rough 3 weeks.
