Episode #697 - The Expendables 3

“How is adding Kelsey Grammer to this [movie] a thing at all?” - Eric

On this week’s episode, the guys are dodging CGI explosions left and right as they talk about the total wet fart of an action film, The Expendables 3! Why couldn’t they budget for some actual explosions? Why didn’t this wind up being more of a Wesley Snipes movie? Why did the writers think this movie needed all the Expendables Jr. characters? And what on EARTH were they thinking with this PG-13 rating? PLUS: Sly puts out an album full of t.v. theme song covers!

The Expendables 3 stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Kelsey Grammer, Glen Powell, Antonio Banderas, Victor Ortiz, Ronda Rousey, Kellan Lutz, Jet Li, Robert Davi, and the great Wesley Snipes as Doc; directed by Patrick Hughes.

Episode #697 - The Expendables 3

Comments

Thanks for making me cry during the “Sly Sings TV Theme Songs”. 🤣

Austin Kunis

Saw Expendables 4 today and the end legit pissed me off. Well not Megan Foxes nipples but everything else had me fucking raging. Justice for Tony Jaa's character!

Aaron

I can’t believe Sly didn’t try to bait Grammar into a duet of Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs.

HockeenightsCT

Brooks would've been an AMAZING villain in one of these! - Andrew

We Hate Movies

Slowly their Sly impressions just become a drunk Bob Dylan to me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Alice Moonlight

I had Mel Gibson mixed up with Mel Brooks for almost the entire episode

Francesca

Your instincts on Ronda Rousey are accurate. Like her fellow MMA star turned action something or other, Gina Carano, she's quite the transphobe.

Dylan Foley

As the (self-appointed) WHM Wrestling correspondent I would like to report that Rousey just finished up a run with WWE that by all accounts sucked.

HockeenightsCT

Maybe he meant "Mercenaries"? That's the only one that comes close to the concept, even though it looks like an Asylum film. (Oh wait, it is an Asylum film)

Troy Conner

Hope Stallon guests on the King of the Hill ep to sing the theme song. I've seen all three in theaters and found them to be a big whatever. I think the first one came out same day as Scott Pilgrim and enjoyed Pilgrim way more.

Darryl Bowen

Barnes played a big role in the Sandy Hook trials.

The Wheel

Snipes went to prison because a lawyer named Robert Barnes snaked his way up close to him and told him to go with what was basically a sovereign citizen defense. Snipes fired him eventually but it was too late to do any good. Mr Barnes has since moved on to be Alex Jones lawyer for a while as well as doing a show on InfoWars for a while. Still does guest spots all the time.

The Wheel

What's the Expendabelles movie that Andrew said he watched? I don't think they ever actually filmed that, it's still on development hell

Felipe Sobreiro

Thanks for taking this hail of bullets for those of us who will go to our graves never having seen it. Fuck this movie. If I want to see a shitty cartoony version of these guys with no lasting consequences, I'm firing up BroForce again, oh wait that game isn't shitty.

MarkNM

I saw this in theaters and as I walked out I told my wife that I would rather do another colonoscopy.

Christopher Oxentine

Tim Hortons breakfast combos are the real killers

Matt

Holy shit I had no idea Glen Powell was in this. How the mighty have risen.

Chris Rose

E3 sounds absolutely miserable.

TDB

Holy crud... Now I want 2 hrs of you guys singing TV Themes of Stallone

James C Harris

I watched all three of these this weekend, in advance of this episode. Why did I do that to myself? At least the first two were around 90 odd minutes. This one being over 2 hours is just wrong.

Tony King

looking forward to 4...but this one was such crap. Sly succumbing to that PG13 nonsense for 3 hurt it a lot.

Frank Grimes

Saw this in theaters and it really says something about how worthless the movie is when the planned power outage I forgot about upon getting home was better than the movie I had just finished watching.

Ed Harris

🤘!!!
