How on Earth did the producers let Lucas get away with these abhorrent Trade Federation characters? What was with the awful Gungan speech pattern? Why did they have to make Anakin the product of Immaculate Conception? And wasn’t this movie better with the puppet Yoda? PLUS: Cliegg Lars contracts a nasty Hutt STD!

2025-03-19 19:52:10 +0000 UTCRe-listening to this episode again today the palpatine convo stood out to me , I had never heard/seen anything where the audience wasn't supposed to know sidious and palpatine were same person? The Whole point of his disguise was for the plot that none of the in universe characters know they are the same person. Even maul doesn't know who he really is based on a lot of the (now legends i guess) comics and novels at the time .

I also vaguely remember him talking openly somewhere about pirating it. But I might have imagined that. Anyway, I think they might have replaced him later (in the animated shows etc) as a result.

He's a big deal in the designer circles. Apparently he wanted Padme to secretly plan to kill Anakin during their confrontation in Revenge of the Sith.

2023-09-05 21:44:01 +0000 UTCA thought I had when y'all mentioned about how the generation gap between those who liked the prequels as kids vs the older ones who didn't , I remembered really confusing my nephew a few years ago with the OG cut of A New Hope because he grew up with all the changed releases and he was so perturbed not seeing Jabba or that Hayden showing up in RotJ. Feel like that's gonna be a weird thing going forward that the original cut is gonna be lost and possibly forgotten about by those same youngsters that grew up with those changes.
