Originally airing back on October 16, 1990, the episode in question, "Last Horizons," features some truly awful stuff like panda characters with "Fu Manchu" mustaches, Baloo definitely flying drunk and being verbally abusive while intoxicated, a ton of pro-war insanity, and the most offensive element of all: a little kid stowaway character! Yeah, makes sense that Disney+ scrubbed this one!

I'm thinking Steve is forgetting about The Tales of the Golden Monkey, and, more importantly, the holds-up-pretty-damn-well 1939 movie Only Angels Have Wings, by Howard Hawks, starring Cary Grant. I liked Tale Spin growing up, but when I first saw that move, I was stunned at just how much it clearly inspired this cartoon from my childhood. As for this episode, it's just sad the creators didn't learn the lesson from OAHW's contemporary, Lost Horizon: a good story can be ruined by bad character depictions i.e. yellowface, white savior. I still like that movie too, but it's not one I could easily recommend to others.
