Animation Damnation - The Transformers Musical Episode

On this month's listener-requested AD, the guys are chatting about an absolutely dreadful, completely incomprehensible episode of The Transformers, "Carnage in C-Minor." Originally airing October 14, 1986, this episode features a planet of elf-looking creatures that speak only while singing, a staggering amount of totally unknown Autobots and Decepticons, and one robot that wants to force these elves to sing the rest of these robots to death. PLUS: After Steve asks an innocent question about a hypothetical sex act, the gang goes into a truly filthy tangent. Put the kids to bed for this one!

Way, way, way late here. But as far as I know, the original "daisy chain" is just a garland made of daisies, so by definition circular, not linear. Wikipedia corroberates this. In electrical engineering, a daisy chain can be either linear or circular. So Andrew wasn't wrong.

WTF did I just watch?

Dan Hillen

Yeah there was a real liberating Iraq feeling on that planet

Man that Transformers animated movie is great. I saw it in theaters in 2019 with an enormous glass of water and my friend Mr Popcorn and Dr Pepper. Nimoy rules as Galvatron, Orson Welles as Unicron is a hallmark of my childhood, and it's fun watching Ultra Magnus wrestle with a puzzle box. Andrew you get to see more Sharkticons That being said, I'm sad the film did not feature Plunger or Nug Jar the Autobots

Smaug

Sooooo a daisy chain that loops back around is a flower crown, right?

Nora Dallaire

I would for sure listen to a show of the guys grumbling through an episode of G.I. Joe and an episode of transformers. Some of the best AD eps come out of those two.

Ultra Magnus was voiced by Robert Stack in the movie and its totally awesome because most of his lines are dad-style grumblings because he can't get a magic can of beans to open up and save them.

Happy 85th AD by the way!

I must've blocked this from my memory cause I don't remember this episode at all. I'm almost afraid to watch it
