The episode in question, "A Wonderful Friendship," which originally aired July 7th, 1984, was the pilot of this bonkers bit of animation and features classic cartoon crackups like: exploring deep sea disasters, elderly women hoping to wrangle wild animals as pets, grandfathers that vanish into thin air, flying koala bears with a real bloodlust, and a little girl whose life is endangered no less than 3 times in the 21-minute episode! PLUS: This grandma gets down at the VFW!

FYI, I found multiple titles for this episode, including "A Friend from Down Under" and "A New Friend." I found it with the latter title on YouTube.
