Animation Damnation - G.I. Joe (Extra Weird Episode Edition)

On this month's Animation Damnation, the gang is gearing up and rolling out with the beloved G.I. Joes as the squad... what's that say? Travels back in time to ancient Greece? Oooooooo-kay! The episode in question, "G.I. Joe and the Golden Fleece," originally aired October 27th, 1986 and features such bat-shit crazy moments like Sgt. Slaughter destroying a man's village with a flash flood, aliens descending from the heavens to pick up some garbage they left behind, and yes, the aforementioned time travel back to ancient Greece! PLUS: Cobra Commander wastes the rest of his days trying to figure out who the Zodiac Killer was!

This episode is available to rent on Amazon.

Thanks so much for supporting this weird thing called We Hate Movies and be sure to spread the word!

I love just letting these play all night on Tubi. You always wake up to some bonkers episode. 😂 We need a poll. Who ships Flint & Lady Jaye or Scarlet & Duke? This is how girls watched G.I. Joe. Treat it like a soap opera! BTW...I'll totally pay for a G.I.Joe podcast!! Each insane episode and in-depth discussion of why we get Snake Eyes break dancing, but still can't see his freakin face!!

One of you does a Cobra impression that sounds like a Mark Hamill Joker

Greek Mythology Nerd Alert: "um guys the golden fleece was quested after by Jason and the Argonauts... Hercules slayed the Nemean Lion which had golden fur which he wore because of its magical powers; the fur would be called a pelt, but you can call it a fleece if you don't hit me."

Can't wait to see the gang tackle the 1987 animated movie someday.

"Watch out Pizzamannnn!" I'm kinda surprised in the Let's Market this Trash Pizza Everywhere and to Everyone We Can approach to advertising Papa John's had, we didn't get a Savin 'Merica cartoon out of it somehow Great episode guys! Steve's SGT Slaughter voice that sounded like a meatgrinder....yeet yeet

Smaug

Eric, your wrestling character can be the long-lost son of Colonel Debeers, the pro-apartheid wrestler of the 80's known for his quality mustache and cartoonish villainy.

Worthless fact - Flint Dille, the guy who wrote this episode, wrote the story for one of my favorite video game's of all time - Dead to RIghts. It's is also bonkers and off the wall. Seriously, God bless Flint Dille.

Brian Moore

You can also watch this bad shit crazy episode for free on Tubi!
