Weekly Update (9th April)

I'm late, I'm late!

It's time for another new weekly update. Things were a little crazy recently, sorry for this being later than usual.

This Week

I'm trying out improving my model porting process. Instead of just porting from Daz and that being it I'm trying to add things I want to see in models. So with Shadowheart I've made an 'HD' version of her (yes I know saying it's HD is cringe). She has more detail in her geometry without using displacement.

First in her nipples:

I've also added some more detail to her genitals.

Lighting is purposefully quite harsh to help show the details better.

I think there is still improvements to be made, but I'm happy so far. A fairly big downside is that because it is mostly 'real' detail the geometry comes in at over 4 million faces. It can be turned up and down though so it could be an option to turn the detail down for renders with her further away.

Anyway. Sorry, if you are here for the renders that's probably not the interesting. I'm working on a couple of pin-up style renders again to test out these changes, make sure I haven't broken anything since I've never used the techniques I used before.

I'm not sure what I'll be making for Sunday, but I'm hoping maybe something more with Shadowheart since I didn't get as much time as I wanted last weekend due to Blender being a pain.

Next Week

I'm honestly not sure what I'll be doing next week. Let me know if you have anything you'd like to see. I do want to try to go back and re-do some of my fave models using the things I've learned from Shadowheart, but I want to take a little break from model porting first so I don't burn myself out.

Important Schedule Change

Finally, I mentioned there is a schedule change coming up. For next month I will be changing to 1 release per week on a Sunday. This is an experiement to see if it gives me more time to make better renders or at the very least more images. I'll still be posting this update on a Wednesday but instead changing it slightly to show a viewport preview of what I'm working on.

Again this is just for June as a small experiment to see how it goes.

As always, a huge thank you for your support. Blend Files for April should now available in the Members Perks collection for Gold Members too.
