Took a short break from commissions to make a new OC monster - Nuumi.
Notes from the POV of her researcher, Codename: Persia - -
Day 1- "Reports of an UDC (Unknown Dangerous Crearue) have reached our ears and so we've embarked on the case. Dozens of deaths in the suburban sector of city O couldn't be explained until the first sighting of this creature was reported. After 48 hours on mission, the troop of twelve expert trained Inquisitors have returned with the specimen. It has reached the facility soundly. The acquisition was unfortunately costly; this specimen was somehow able to terminate half the crew and injure the rest. It's a delicate matter and its capabilities are unknown. It will be put in lockdown until we can figure out the secret to its killer weapon"
Day 3- "Another tragedy begets a new discovery... At the cost of seven more lives in two days, I've found out how the specimen takes lives. The outside of the bodies of the sacrifices were nearly unscathed, but inside... all traces of blood vanished and the heart is completely shriveled. Now to the "nearly unscathed" part - there is a single puncture wound right between the ribs of all of the deceased. I deduce that this is the location where some sort of proboscis has entered the body to drain blood. But now I'm curious as to how the men and women that died have no defensive wounds..."
Day 4- "It was so obvious, yet I was too late to note. There are two eyes on the UCP that I was finally able to look at. But here's the scary part: you can't miss it, and it stares you right in the face! Two eyes... But there's only one on the face that has the effect, the other gapes open on its chest between its breasts. When these eyes are both looking at you, your limps go into complete autopilot. I only looked for a second, and was drawn to the specimen. Several guards had to hold me down and stop me from entering the containment cell! In conclusion: the eyes induce some sort of muscle memory and forces prey to come to it, while you are fully conscious of the loss of control. Then once the prey is within range, the long "finger nail" impales the arteries in the chest and draws blood from there. This finger nail is actually proboscis- a straw basically. It's such a clean- and terrifying- way to die... I can't believe I almost walked into my death, fully aware of my movements and watching the very blood within me get sucked out while i'm still breathing. The crew now calls it Dread Eye"
Day 10- "We've managed to cover the eyes with special leather plates and tight belts. I'm not worried about Dread Eye removing the armor though - it seems its hands have no thumbs. That and her long nail will make it impossible for her to get a grip on the straps. We're finally safe."
Day 12- "After spending some time up close with Nuumi -yes I've nicknamed her, and yes, I've concluded that she is indeed female - she seems much more docile. Perhaps the bloodlust has subsided after a steady supply of raw red meat and eggs. We still restrain her when I need to get up close and personal, but she doesn't flinch anymore when I conduct my physical exams. I even hear a low rumbling, similar to a lion purring, coming from her when I enter."
