V5 Hardware sneak peeks 👀

The first test board for V5 hardware was delivered to me this past week, and while the stencil tool to assemble them was messed up, I present you the first look at the physical size of the main board.

What is V5?

V5 is the next version of EyeTrackVR hardware, including an MTT USB 2.0 4 port hub, LED driver, and 5V regulator for all downstream ports.

Designed with the Bigscreen Beyond in mind, this incredibly compact board solves many issues with such a setup, large PCBs, multiple components, USB hub incompatibility and more disappear.

We are left with a board barely wider than a USB-C port, providing 4 USB ports and IR LED driver hardware small enough to fit in the Beyond's USB-C aux port.

LED rings (Beyond, Index, Q2) and general LED boards are the next step of V5, before the focus shifts entirely to the final hardware of ETVR.

I'll have more info on this final hardware in the future, but let’s just say it is everything I could ever hope for. However, it will be an expensive and possibly long journey to get there.
