Added 2020-12-27 10:57:26 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Just wanted to wish y'all happy holidays. I know not all of you are celebrating Christmas or New Years - for those who don't, I hope you still had a fantastic weekend with lots of great food :)
My Christmas was socially distant, but me and my girlfriend Clara made Christmas dinner for the parents and delivered it to them, so we could enjoy the same thing at the same time and it was actually pretty cool! (My mom is here on Patreon, too, so feel free to drop a review if you read this mom :D)
I did classic German Christmas food with a twist:
1) Duck breast marinated in soy & ginger, cooked sous vide and pan-seared.
2) Potato dumplings with sage butter & chives - added a sweet potato to the mix which surprisingly changed pretty much nothing.
3) Steamed "Sauerkraut" with cabbage, cinnamon, cloves and pears. It's not actually Sauerkraut because it's not fermented - just cooked with sugar and vinegar ;)
4) Five Spice & Hoisin gravy using the sous vide juices from the duck
5) Simple cucumber & dill salad to balance things out a bit.
Wanted to make a German Christmas food video borrowing my friend's mom (one of the highest quality Omas out there!!), but couldn't go through with it due to covid concerns :( Hopefully next year!
There's one more video coming this year - it's another very highly requested soup and I'm excited to share it with you! Other than that we're taking it easy for a couple of days, recharging for a hopefully more colorful 2021.
I basically just dropped in to wish you a good holiday season, but I want to know two things:
1) What was the best thing you ate for Christmas? :D (that's the easy one.)
2) What type of content would you like to see here on Patreon in 2021? I really want to know. I've tried a few different things so far, but you guys don't seem to be super excited about them. I really appreciate your support and want to put stuff out here, but (like many other creators) I am not quite sure what the right content for this page is.
