As I said in my last update, there's some heavy topics in this in the last 15-20 mins or so. Discussion of CTE, its side effects and whatnot. Its not exactly an easy watch so if you're having a rough day, maybe knock it off around the 45 minute mark and save the rest for later.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Napoleon's videos are genuinely funny, Some of the funniest content on YouTube, but I always walk away learning something new about UFC/MMA. I'm a late fan of the sport, so I try to learn as much of the past as possible because my knowledge is obviously a lot slimmer than the old school boys here. I knew of Gary from watching videos online etc. But I didn't know how bad his (and others') health really are. A long-time fan of yours Blownapart, keep up the awesome work :D Love your stuff. Even if you're trying to make me fucking cry now! You ever in Scotland gives a shout :D

There’s a line in the opening of the video where I said something about slap fighters eventually wondering why they keep putting their phone in the fridge. That wasn’t a joke as it was basically how his dementia started, he kept doing things like leaving the remote control in the fridge. Thank god for people like your dad tho, we need more of him and less Dana whites. Also I’m pretty sure Muay Thai is known for having very light sparring right? At least that’s what I heard. So hopefully you won’t have to worry about concussions

I've lost family members to dementia, and it is something I never stop thinking about whenever I do muay thai or MMA. My father is a neurosurgeon who did his doctoral thesis on traumatic brain injury, and he was fuming when he found out about slap fighting. His colleague denounced it as completely idiotic in a national newspaper (the article's in Swedish, so I won't bother linking it here) and my father has called Dana White an evil man for exploiting the lost and the desperate when he already has more money than he could ever hope to spend, should he live to be 1000 years old and spend the entire BDP of Bulgaria on human growth hormone every one of those years. I've had to promise him that if I ever get knocked out in sparring och competition, then I will quit cold-turkey.
