Could we have started in a month?

Apparently not. Here's the update.

The Myriad will return in early September. I am confident in this because if I absolutely had to I could start a character creation session for the players now. Unless something happens with the players or there is an unforeseeable doomsday, this is the plan. There is no exact date because I haven't talked to players yet.

Until September, I will be adding more maps and refining the world building of the area. With all this extra work of already having the most important city center maps already done and prepared, it may be possible to see 2 active campaigns a lot sooner. I'm still waiting to see how the first one kicks off, but with so many things finalized, preparation is picking up speed and adding to a lot of confidence going forward.

Also, I have 4 Campaign scenarios ready for the players to select when they are creating characters. It has been my intention with the new setting to offer player 'mission' options whenever possible. This may still change, but here is one example:

Secretly, that is the one I hope they pick! Though, I doubt they will because the others read a little more exciting than a repair job.

I'd like this to be a normal occurrence for players when they reach natural stopping points. Here, once they turn in the mission and are at a safe location in a city I can offer them a few new options of where they can go from there -- and of course they can also provide input or decide to do something they have come up with on their own.  For character creation, they have the added benefit of requiring players to build characters in a certain way to help inspire the group and the playstyle they're aiming for. Because the rewards are clear, players can fulfill that sense of 'farming' the resources and opportunities the group feels they need.

Even for the options they don't choose, they are still roughly prepared. This means they may get to see other NPCs who are attempting the mission they didn't take. However, the outcomes of this situations will (almost) always be worse than if a player took the job on - and in the future maybe other player groups can agree to one of them. It should really add to the feeling of a bigger world. And the amount of preparation required, so I'm glad there's a bit more time.

I dunno, Canal Repair sounds interesting to me. Someone was sent to do it and hasn't. Could be sabotage, maybe the guy got kidnapped and is being forced to work on other things... I don't know how much the average job pays in the world but 100 seems like A LOT based on other campaigns, maybe not though... Is that split between them all or each person gets it?
