It is! I saw it in 2017 too :) and in the park. I can’t return this year but maybe in 2024, more Sakura travel!!

2023-03-28 14:46:01 +0000 UTCWow, after posting the above I came across your reference to heading out of Tokyo to catch the Sakura in Tohoku. May I suggest a return to Kanazawa. The Sakura that will line the moat that extends from the Castle Tower (located across the road from Kenrokuen) is stunning as the sun sets.

2023-03-28 07:46:14 +0000 UTCHi Dale 😄 I did exactly that when I hitchhiked Japan in 2017 for the Bluray Kickstarter 📀 project. They were blooming in Late March in Kyushu and early May when I got to Hakodate too but they were quite late compared to this year.
