It depends what the purpose of the gear is. It’s just a tool. I used the same gear since 2017 (GH5, Manfrotto BeFree tripod, GoPro Hero 7) with small updates in mic (Rode Wireless Go). Cameras are tools to tell a story so an ancient Canon is enough. An iPhone is enough if it images tell the story you’re aiming for. Pixel peepers, people who MUST HAVE 4K don’t realize they’re watching 720p most of the time on TV. If someone is counting pixels, they’re not listening to the story 😂 Yes, too expensive, but if it helps me tell a story better or improved viewer safisfaction, it’s worth it. More importantly, my camera just needs replacing, 3 years of heavy use — and I dropped it in an onsen bath last week 😣 but it’s still okay as a second camera.

I've talked to a lot of friends in the UK, and many of them say that they don't use it either (use it for some things, but not many)... I'm in the US, so, don't use metric day to day, but I play around with a lot of electronics building stuff (Arduino, Raspberry Pi). It's all metric. Metric is so much easier (just try to add/multiply/divide by fractions of an inch). In this day and age, imperial no longer makes sense.
