It's a place no YouTuber has gone yet because of the distance and expenses. It requires a helicopter ride! Population: 160
I will be here for almost 10 days making a story for ONLY in JAPAN. It's all because of the support here and I can best thank you with an amazing episode and loads of stories. I think I can post photos but the signal from the island is weak. Boy, will I have a lot to tell you when I get back!!!! I've been planning it for a month, helicopter booked. Get ready to join me. We're going for an adventure -- and believe it or not, THIS IS TOKYO!!!!!

The lodge owner (there are 4-5 places to stay) spoke neutral Japanese a little slower than the mainland but this is an awesome question and I'll see what kind of cultural difference they have. There are only 160 people living here so I get he feeling that it's history is not so long but who knows what I'll discover. I've got a lot of time to figure out all the mysteries.

I called the island tourism office (one man office!) and he gave me all the details and advice. There really isn't much info. I'm curious how islanders live and why they live there. It's still part of Tokyo and yet -- it's a thousand km away! Just a quite island and I think it'll make an amazing story. There are a few islands even further out in the Pacific actually! But one seems right :)

I wanted to include this island in our upcoming trip after reading about it (especially about how it's related to my beloved movie "Your Name") but gave up on the idea because it's almost impossible to get there.
