Demo Day!

Hi, everyone!

The new demo is ready to go! You can find the dropbox link at the bottom of this post.

PC ONLY: Unfortunately, alpha-testing isn't really a thing for consoles, so our demos will be PC only. To remove the hassle of signups, it's being mass-distributed to everyone who is eligible, whether or not you have a system that can run it.

Minimum specs to run this demo smoothly:

OS: Windows 10/11 - 64bit
RAM: 8GB
Video Card: Nvidia GTX1080 or similar, with DX12 support
VRAM: 6GB
Free hard drive space: 3GB

There is a text file called "Note from the Dev" in the download folder. I'll include it here:

Welcome, Alpha Testers! We're thrilled to have you on board to help shape the future of SIREN. Your feedback will be invaluable as we strive to create an immersive and unique experience.

The point of this demo is to get feedback on:

⦁ The general feel of breaching and surface swimming

⦁ Overall performance

The level is a bare-bones testing ground for procedural foliage/rocks/coral. As such, it does not include quest objectives, and the environment is simpler than what was in the previous demo.

Expect to encounter bugs, glitches, and UI issues.

Short list of a few known problems and issues:

⦁ Strafing isn't implemented

⦁ Missing splashes and sounds for breaching

⦁ Unfinished (stiff) animations

⦁ Small visual glitch when you load into the level (level-loading fade-in isn't set up for this testing stage)

⦁ Character model: This is the updated base character model. Still in prototype phase, so don't be too hard on her appearance. Everything is in flux.

Important Controls:

Swim down: Left trigger // Ctrl

Swim up: Right trigger // Shift

Surge: Right bumper // Spacebar

Breach: Hold Swim Up + Surge

Reset Position: D-pad Left // U

To chain your breaches together just hold down Surge + Swim Up while swimming forward. Add Swim Down just before you enter the water to get some extra depth for your next breach. Changing your angle of approach affects the height of the breach. Experiment with the controls!
