It's that time again! There's been a few changes-- welcome to new members, and farewell to those that have gone on to other ventures.

A lot more new free members at the "Recruit" level-- welcome one and all! There will be a brief initial ritual but it's really little more than a formality, the only hard part will be getting the peanut butter out of your hair.
So what is going on?
As we slide out of the old year and into the new one like swapping out a fresh pair of Lederhosen, probably the first truly big event will be the upcoming Gem State Comic Con, which will be in May 15th to the 17th at the Expo Idaho (the Fairgrounds) in sunny downtown Garden City, Idaho!

Garden City is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Boise, and don't tell them I said that because they get kinda salty about it. But seriously, Garden City is technically its own thing with its own mayor and police force and stuff like that but it blends seamlessly with the rest of Boise and you really don't know when you've gone from one to the other unless you're a local. But the Expo building is super nice.
BOOKS!?
I am going to try to put together a book in time for GSCC but I don't know how soon I will be able to get it done. I really want to skip ahead and do the KFOR edition and I will probable end up doing that even though it will involve some hoop-jumping. Meanwhile, BOHICA Blues Iraq book #5, "Convoy Warriors", is pretty much ready to go. Decisions, decisions.
EMPIRES!?
I am working on some new Empires content (this is starting to pick up) but I recently did a bunch of really cool stuff for one of my starships, one that is pivotal to the setting and an upcoming adventure in the rebooted universe, the Avenger-class attack craft/gunship. I did some multi-angle views with a lot of detail and stuff, and it took a long time and a lot of hard work...

...aaaaannd I have decided I don't really like it and want to redo it.
This is eventually something I want to collaborate with another creator, a guy named Fractalsponge, who does some absolutely fantastic work on 3D renders of Star Wars ships. But before I send it off to him (and a hefty check) I want to make sure the damn thing looks the way I truly envision it. So I will be sharing that again soon.
There are other projects being worked on, none of them particularly big and splashy (yet) but they will be making appearances here as soon as time permits. I am way ahead of schedule on BOHICA Blues right now and so that gives me time to indulge in some Empires stuff and other funny projects, including one that involves my goofball new dog, Daisy-Mae.

But until then, that's all for now. Stay tuned, welcome to the Battalion, and see you in the funny pages!
