So I showed the initial pencil sketch to this last Friday, along with a load of other pencil sketches for other comics that were in the works. Because of the earlier reveal, I will jump ahead to the inks and clean-up point...

The image is quickly cleaned up and the panel gutters reinforced...

I start with basic coloration and repeat the panel on the lower part of the page (I actually use the same panel three times in total. I used to complete a full panel with color, repeat it, and then introduce changes, but having to erase lots of extra detail like camouflage and shading was so time-consuming it ate away what utility I got from using the same panel. So now I leave things monocolored, and repeat the panel, and introduce minor changes at this point.

Here you can see some of the incorporated changes, with hand positions, facial expressions, etc.

And, as usual, my gradual introduction of camouflage and other details.

Now I am getting ready to finish it! Just some more background and the dialogue. See you in the funny pages here on Friday!
