Messing and thinking

This is just a rough sketch not  really related with anything but...

... Lately we've been thinking a lot about the end of chapter 2 and chapter 3 and some ideas came to our mind.

First of all, simple cinematics for heavy parts of the story (This sketch could be a test about messing with the art style for those cinematics).  A possible idea could be sequences of images with small animation touches, more narrative, to add more immersion at some parts.

Also about chapter 3, we are thinking on make a little system change. A possible idea could be turn more characters into special characters with it's own development and stories (not all villagers but lots of them), and change the part where you do actions with random villagers  (which we think it's been a great part of this game but maybe it's a little burned now)  for specific events, some management (similar to the tavern but a little different and bigger), and some point and click interaction with the world. Of course keeping a goal and an enemy/menace.

We'll probably get rid of flash/adobe animate for this third chapter and use a new program.

When the time comes, we'll open polls for this stuff in the tier 5$+ but meanwhile we would love to know your thoughts about it.

Once the characters of chapter 3 are established we'll settle the rules for the voting but I think we have enough freedom to adapt the events submited ^^ (if not we'll look to adapt it with the authors).

As long as the old influencing system is going (the current system is a bit clunky but the animations are awesome) I was thinking the game could benefit from something like an idle game(cookie clicker, idle heroes, soda dungeon, ect.) A more set it and forget it style of influencing. Just pick a character and let them just do the influencing automatically. Just a thought, no idea how difficult it would be implement. Sorry if that's a bit off topic.

Changing from random villagers is a good move, seems like the natural progression from chapters 1 and 2. I'd limit the voting events to specific new characters to keep things fresh and encourage more content since you guys are bound to have a million events for all the older characters already. I'm a huge fan of personalizing more of the island, think that's a great idea.

Nice! I like the idea of turning some of the side characters into more established special story lines, and I agree the actions with random villagers is a bit outdated. Also moving away from flash might be a good idea, since flash sometimes runs very slow and drops frame rate (at least for me), especially on mobile. Good ideas, keep up the hard work!
