  First alpha of chapter 2!

Still very provisional. We had prepared a little the interface to make it playable but a lot of things must change and be updated.


 Features/updates:

· Recoded adapting the old functionality from chapter 1 to work with the new features of chapter two.

· Recoded the ragdoll system to consume less resources.

· You can move between the areas but only the market, the forest and the farms are functional.

· Time implemented but now work a little different. Move between areas will cost time and in future will cost time and energy. Also Elana will be able to move until her energy is gone, even at night (during night, move between the areas to make the day start again).

· Now every area have it's own villagers (10 for now) and Elana will influence them particularly. If you use the action conversation, Elana will learn their name, but in future will work with all physical skills.

· New skill trees implemented.

· Now the skills are bought by points but since the system of the new influence is not implemented yet and the way to acquire this points neither, in this version you'll start with 100 points to buy all skills.

· Most of the skills now try to show the difference between the villagers, with ragdolls or a new set of villagers made by pieces.

· Most of the actions implemented (still some magic actions left and some the physical actions, without the animation done, too. The skill tree needs to be updated with this physical actions too).

· Elana can transform herself before doing the actions and most of the times the result will be different.

· Provisional texts for the actions. Only in Spanish and will probably be changed.

· Implemented ragdolls in the forest, market and farms.

· Texts for the observing events in the mentioned areas are implemented but the farms are only available in Spanish and the text needs to be revised.

· Since the influence system is not implemented, every time you make an action, the area will level up and the observing events will change to make it possible to see all of them.

· Now the game have 3 slots to save. Right now only save the time, but it's ready to save all the features in future.



As said everything need some polish and it's provisional to make it a little playable. Even so, we'll be very happy to know every bug, glitch or problem you could find, as well as all your opinions. Now we'll take a week of rest but when we'll come back we'll read and consider everything you let us know.

Two bugs: 1) When you choose the action to perform on a villager (just before the bouncing ball timing game starts), you can also click in the middle of the circle formed by the actions which will also trigger the timing game, but after that the game is stuck. Not every spot in the middle works, but I can reliably trigger the bug by randomly clicking around. 2) If you just click again immediately after starting the timing game, the timing game always succeeds (this may be a feature).

Since it takes a lot of time to adjust to the apk version, we only make this versions once in a while. Our plans right now it's make one when the second chapter is half developed and one when it's finished or in beta stage.

This is actually the month release. After we made the upload we took a week of vacation and we'll be back on work the day 2 or 3 of January. We'll probably release a new version at the end of January.

Now it's just there because it's a part half made. The idea with the bar is to show if the performance of Elana is better or worse, producing more or less result with the villager and also give the possibility to make a performance so good the villager could directly level up and allow Elana to perform an action of a higher level with him/her. Even so, everything needs to be a little adjusted to make it more fluid.

The idea is put all chapters together and make 1 game with them when finished, but since the mechanics will change maybe we decide to display it as separate files (like seasons from the same show). Even so, the idea is still to prepare one game of three chapters.

The idea is give enough margin to walk around for a couple of days and don't force Elana to go to sleep at certain point during night. Since night will be more complete than chapter one, we would like to make it possible to have more time to walk around during night and, about the lose of the energy, it will be a way to force to go to sleep and trigger some specific sleep events. Of course it's open to modification if we see it doesn't work.

Another question(Sorry if I seem whiny). Why did you guys choose to make actions take an extra click with the Succeed/Fail slider bar? This adds a lot less instant gratification when performing actions to villagers. It made sense in the last game to have that appear when escaping from jail and/or deciding to fight. On my current setup, the slider tab is *very* slow which adds a lot of discontinuity from the last version of the game.

I have to agree with this. The nature of the game leaves one to believe it's a relatively small area and the addition of a time and energy penalty for moving around will constrict the player and inhibit exploration of the vivid world you're building. I get what you're trying to go for but it runs counter to the nature of the game you're making.

How easy would it be to remove the effect of losing time and energy to travel between locations? I think that was one of my favorite parts about the old game in that I wouldn't be penalized for exploring the world.
