Ok - so this was the post that was actually supposed to go up next. Sorry about the random "Binging On Beef" podcast episode that went out. I'll get those finished up soon. I just wasn't sure if it was on brand with KPCC but it is what it is.
But you know what is on brand? This off-the-clock archival footage of us watching the pilot to Itaewon Class.
After The Sound of Magic, we watched this variety show called Young Actors Retreat. It basically had the cast of three different shows there to play games and do team-building activities.
Honestly though, watching all the actors there and then seeing them in dramas elsewhere - so fascinating! It just makes me love them as people.
Also, I have to say that Ji Chang Wook in a baseball cap (he played the magician on The Sound of Magic) had be all swooning. Allison was completely in love with Park Seo Joon (he's the lead of Itaewon Class). And Hwang In Yeop is basically the most endearing human being on earth and is a variety king (he was the student who serenaded the girl in The Sound of Magic video).
All this to say, the next thing we watched was Itaewon Class. And so here's some reaction tidbits from the show's pilot. I have a couple other big moments where I caught her reaction. I'll share those with you later. But these are just glimpses of what you'll get when we start doing k-dramas for real.

Wait I just realized is Ji Chang Wook the actor who just starred in The Worst Of Evil?! 😱 I guess I need to add “Sound Of Magic” to my watchlist as well.

Park Seo Joon immediately grabbed me, now anything that he is in I watch and the icing on the cake is he is besties with my ult V, so I feel like I am winning. Btw forgive me, life gets pretty busy and I am finding myself playing catch up with the Patreon post. So this made my day to see that you reacted to my fav K-drama.

It looks at life from a more realistic standard, much like Itaewon Class. The leads are average people with dreams like getting promoted or finding love. No Chaebols in site. It is a lovely drama.
