Reincarnated in a Shounen Manga - Chapter 275

Chapter 275 - Sky Cracker

I leaned on the balcony railing of Wisteria's room. It had been two days since our date, and I stared at the sky, searching for any signs of abnormalities.

The barrier was on the brink of falling, but I didn't know the exact date. If Wisteria hadn't decided to back off on her part of the deal, Tamae no Mae should have finished arranging the barrier around the Sun Kingdom.

For the most part, I had already prepared ways to send messages to people in all corners of the world. When the barrier around the human world broke, I wanted everyone to know that the Sun Country was a safe place.

I had also sent a message to the Sage about what was going to happen, though I wasn't sure if she and the others believed me. Maybe they were preparing things behind the scenes where I couldn't see them. It wasn't like I had been paying too much attention to what others were up to since I had my own problems to deal with.

Suddenly, something soft hit me on the back of my neck, and when I turned around, I found only a paper airplane on the ground. Wisteria was staring at me from our bed, surrounded by many paper airplanes.

Before I could say anything, she raised her hands and said, "I give up. You win."

I raised a questioning brow. "This is the equivalent of you punching someone in the face and then saying that the guy who got punched won the fight."

"C'mon now, don't be petty. I am your cute wife!" She insisted.

She sure had a high opinion of herself for a shut-in weeb, though I couldn't refute that she was cute.

"I thought you were going to watch some anime?" I asked.

"Nah," she shook her head and got up from her bed. She was wearing hot pants and a white tank top. As she walked closer to me, her long red hair swished behind her. "Today, I want you to teach me about Ord."

"You want to actually try and be good at something?"

"No, but as an awesome wife, I noticed that you looked like you were anxiously waiting for something. So what better way to get your mind off things than spending time with your smoking-hot partner, who is also royalty, hot, funny, sexy, talented, and has the potential to be strong-"

"She is also a weeb degenerate, a shut-in, and eats mostly junk food," I continued her long tirade by adding some of her worse qualities.

Wisteria pouted at that and ended up leaning on me while whispering some very rude things. So, I put my arm around her waist, and we both set off flying at high speeds.

"Wait! I'm still in my pajamas!" She screeched.

But sadly for her, it was already too late, and we were alongside a river. Once we landed down, she looked at the sun, which had barely risen over the horizon, and she shivered. "Damn, it's cold here."

Okay, she appeared genuinely cold. So, with a snap of my fingers, I harnessed my inherited dragon power and conjured a coat, draping it around her shoulders.

She had the audacity to grimace and demand, "Ew, this doesn't look pretty at all. Can you make it into just a jacket?"

"No, I can only create one piece of clothing per day."

"Well, that's a blatant lie. I've seen you craft a dozen things at once."

Caught with my pants, metaphorically speaking, I complied and made a jacket. Then I turned the coat into particles of Ord.

"Alright, why did you bring me out in the middle of nowhere?" She yawned, gazing at the grass as if considering a nap.

Did she stay up watching anime too late again?

"I've already covered almost everything on the theoretical side of Ord with you. Now, we need to delve into the practical aspects," I explained, clenching my hand, which caused something to surge from the water. Emerging from the depths was an alligator demon sporting a rose-shaped crest atop its head.

The demon, sensing its impending fate, desperately attempted to retreat into the water. But it was in vain, as I condensed the water's surface, turning it harder than steel—impenetrable to a low-class demon.

"Go and deal with it," I pointed toward the alligator.

Wis glanced at me, then at the demon, and back at me again. She sighed, reluctantly approaching the creature. The alligator, sensing danger, pivoted and lunged at Wisteria.

For a low-class demon, it displayed remarkable aggression. However, I decided not to intervene unless it escalated to a life-threatening situation.

Wis looked taken aback, her eyes wide and her breath quickening. Despite her surprise, her body moved almost instinctively as she landed a powerful punch directly on the alligator's snout. Her fist sank elbow-deep into the demon.

The demon's lifeless body collapsed to the ground, and Wis withdrew her blood-soaked arm. Some of the dark, foul-smelling blood had splattered onto her clothes.

She crouched down, retching, and I placed a hand on her forehead.

"There, there, you're going to be okay," I reassured her, offering some napkins I created. "Also, you did it in one punch? That's amazing. Even I couldn't have accomplished that with just a basic understanding of Ord."

Of course, she was a Warrior, which came with the affinity for the most raw power. Warriors usually experienced immediate power-ups after awakening their Ord.

However, it would typically take months, if not years, of training for a Warrior to reach this stage. I don't think Wis had even trained a day in her life. She wasn't physically strong either, which highlighted how overpowered this boost she received was.

After she finished throwing up, she attempted to wash the smell off herself by plunging into the cold river. She didn't even seem to feel the cold, given the disgust she was experiencing. Unfortunately, her efforts to wash the smell away yielded little success, and she grumpily looked at me while shaking in her boots. "C-Can you do something about this?"

"I'm not a washing machine... nor a good shower," I shrugged.

"Then take me back! I smell gross!" She looked ready to cry.

"C'mon now, I don't mind the smell," I said, keeping a good two feet of distance away from her.

Admittedly, she did smell quite bad.

Still, she was my wife, so I went and wrapped my arms around her. With my enhanced sense of smell, this was somewhat even worse. But I still forced a smile, and we quickly flew away and back to her room in the castle.

Not long after, Wisteria emerged from the shower with a towel wrapped around her, her wet hair trailing down her shoulders. She lay down on the bed, exhaling a sigh of relief. "Thank God I was born rich and didn't have to work for what I have. Fighting demons is way harder than I thought it would be."

"You just said the most entitled thing I've heard in a while," I said, lying down next to her. "Anyway, what was up with that powerful punch? You didn't even use Ord to enhance your body, which is essentially the main thing that Warriors do."

She smiled. "I haven't watched an anime in over an hour."

"So?"

"My special ability is related to that. The longer I stay away from watching anime, the stronger I become..." She smiled as if she were hiding something.

Which she probably was, but I wasn't going to inquire about every detail of her special ability. "Don't tell others about your special ability, as simply having a TV playing anime in the background would be your biggest weakness."

It also demonstrated how much of a weeb she was to receive such a significant boost for something as simple as not watching anime. Her high Warrior affinity played a role in that large boost too.

***

Wisteria had never fought in her life. However, when that demon charged toward her, despite her fear, she acted on instincts—instincts she had inherited from her dreams of watching her ancestors battle countless demons.

Although compared to her ancestors, she barely knew the basics. But it was still enough to handle low-class demons.

Weeb Lover's Paradise—that was the name of her special ability. It had partially manifested on its own, and she had added some conditions to make it stronger.

As Kon had told her, the easiest way for an Exorcist to advance to the next level was by imposing restrictions on themselves.

"Anyway, I will teach you how to perform basic Strengthening using Ord. Your empowerment is already impressive, even though you gain so much Ord in return from your ability that it strengthens your body passively. Add the boost from doing it consciously, and you'd become a physical monster," Kon nodded with pride.

He tried to help her learn how to strengthen her body with Ord, essentially flooding her muscles, bones, organs, and pores with a significant amount of Ord. It wasn't anything special; she just had to run Ord through them, and her affinity would take effect, strengthening her body.

...

By the end of the day, she could strengthen herself in less than a second. She had no one else to compare her speed to, but Kon looked surprised—whether it was due to her learning speed, it was hard to tell.

He could just be acting surprised, and if she asked about it he would say something like: Wow, it's surprising how slow you learn things.

Still, Kon wasn't the type to gawk at someone for too long. He gathered himself and said, "Good, now we can move on to the next step, which is concentrating all of your Ord into your fist and punching something. But don't punch anything here, or you might destroy your room."

"Don't worry. I'm not stupid," she smiled, closing her eyes and concentrating. Getting her Ord to compress wasn't that hard; she tried gathering all the Ord in her body in one place.

However, all she managed to do in the end was concentrate her Ord on one limb. "This is difficult."

Kon lightly karate-chopped her on the head. "Apologize to all the hard workers out there who take months and even years to achieve this. If you had more ambition than being a weeb, with your mind and Ord talent, you could achieve a lot."

"Hey, no need to be rude. Also, was this actually supposed to be difficult?" Wis asked, causing her to lose concentration, and her Ord spread to the rest of her body.

He was about to respond, but a loud cracking sound echoed outside. Kon's eyes widened as the colossal cracking sound grew louder, resembling a giant glass dome shattering.

Kon walked out to the balcony, and she followed, despite wearing only a towel around herself. She hadn't bothered putting on any clothes. But neither she nor Kon cared about her state of clothing because, as they looked up, Wis saw something unbelievable.

The sky... had spiderweb-like cracks all over it...
