Capaldi in this role doesn't bother me. He's such a good actor that this role and his role as the Doctor feel separate in my mind; they don't affect each other or blend together in any way.

Russel T Davis having wrote it at the time was even feeling sad and considered writing a way to bring him back but he was being called a "soft Welshman", personally i think that was right, if you brought Steven back it would have ruined the emotion. as for your comment's on Capaldi in multiple roles it doesn't bother me personally. Russel T Davis has said in the behind the seines episode that as far as he was concerned his character here was a long descendent of the roman character he played in season 4 of doctor who and it will be explained in his run of doctor who eventually why the doctor chose that face to regenerate into. also fun fact, Gwen's pregnancy was written in to cover for Eve Myles real life pregnancy. as for your comments on what was the reaction to Ianto's death? i'm saving that for a youtube comment because that's the most interesting part of the aftermath of this series.
