Pregnant Sue - Part 1

Here is a new one for everyone. A new commissioner wanted a story to going along with their OC Sue. This is just the first part, and we will see how Sue is progressing next month. Enjoy!

Sue was glad fall had finally come. At seven months pregnant, the cool weather was a huge relief. The twenty pounds that had come with pregnancy certainly hadn’t helped either. Sue was super excited to be expecting her first child soon, but the formerly thin nurse was never going to get used to lugging around all the extra baby weight, especially not around the hospital all day.

Sue couldn’t think of a better place to be pregnant though. Working at the hospital, she was always surrounded by care, knowing that if anything went wrong she could be quickly taken care of. Also there were babies being born there almost every day, which was super exciting, and one day soon it would be her turn. The only danger that lay at the hospital was all the access to food that she had!

Sue had never been a big eater, especially not sweets, but pregnancy had changed all of that. She had taken the old adage of “eating for two” to heart from the start. At first it was just more of everything, more salad, more sandwiches, more cereal. But now that it was fall, her number one guilty pleasure seemed to be more candy! With Halloween coming up right around the corner, every nurse station in the hospital was loaded with a candy dish of bite size treats. At seven months pregnant, Sue needed breaks off her feet now more than ever, which had her sitting right next to that indulgent candy dish so often.

As she’d chart she couldn’t help herself from typing and clicking with one hand, while the other dove into the candy dish to unwrap another morsel. They were all bite size, so she figured it would take like six or seven pieces to equal a full size candy bar. She wasn’t far off but it was more like four or five. It didn’t matter though, as Sue would always quickly lose track of how many she’d had and just be left with a pile of wrappers she swipe into the bin.

It was only a few days until Halloween, and Sue was wearing her favorite pair of green maternity scrubs to work. All the candy had brought on a few more unexpected pounds this past month, more than she had planned to gain. Her OBGYN always just told her that a happy momma makes a happy baby, so not to be concerned about hitting the weight gain just right all the time. With a clear conscience, Sue nibbled on as much candy as she wanted. All that nibbling though was making her favorite green outfit fit a bit snugger than it should.

Sue’s pregnant belly bulged out in front of her, having grown out even further this past month. It was nice and firm from her growing uterus, but also had a bit of a spongy layer to it now, most certainly from all the sugar filled chocolates she had enjoyed. Of course no one thought a second about it, Sue was just a voluptuous and growing soon to be mom. Sue would always absentmindedly rub her round belly with a free hand. It helped her feel like she was bonding with her baby, but it was also nice to rub all that thick chub. Sue even started to notice some love handles joining her sides, those were most certainly not baby related. Maybe she was eating too many chocolates...

That would certainly explain why she could feel her green scrub top getting tight. This set of scrubs was supposed to last her the rest of her pregnancy or at least close to the end of it, but with extra candy pounds they were being quickly outgrown. Despite their design as maternity scrubs, they were surprisingly tight around her large belly, so taut in fact you could see the outline of her navel. The scrub top bunched in several places, showing it’s inadequacy. Under her belly for one, and around those newly formed love handles. While Sue loved this outfit, she knew this would be one of the last times she’d be wearing it.

It also didn’t help that while her boobs had been getting larger her whole pregnancy, the past month they had seemed to make an even larger leap. Swelling up during the month of October, they left her top extremely taut. Having not been extremely ‘gifted’ before, Sue had been coming to terms with her now generous handful of boobage. What she had been given was more than just expected pregnancy boobs, as her cup size grew, she could only feel more womanly and motherly.

Only a couple hours into her shift she had just finished a small handful of candies and disposed of the wrappers in the trash. That was when Traci, one of the other nurses on her floor stopped by. “Hey Sue, grabbed you a slice of cake from the cafeteria, figured you and the baby wouldn’t mind.” Sue, not one for typically indulging in cake, had a surprisingly giddy glint in her eye. Her pregnancy had really kicked her sweet tooth in gear.

“Thank you so much!” Sue smiled, accepting the cake as quickly as it was given. The two shared conversation between bite of hospital cafeteria cake, talking about patients and their upcoming Halloween plans. The hospital had already started to see a transformation for the holiday, common areas decorated with spider webs and outlines of witches. Sue was excited about Halloween, but wasn’t sure how her costume would look now that she was in her third trimester. Her friend assured her everything would be fine.

“Girl, most of us have been pregnant, we get it. Don’t let it bother you.” Traci said.

“It’s just my belly, it’s gotten so big.” Sue blushed.

Traci knew better than to get on a pregnant co-workers bad side, and you never commented on how big a pregnant lady was, but Traci had to admit that Sue was looking pretty round these days, almost full term, and she was only seven months. “Honey, there’s a baby in there, it’s supposed to get big.” She chuckled.

They finished their cake, and went right back to work. Sue had to make her rounds, she had spent enough time snacking for now. Traci was right, Sue had nothing to be nervous about, she should probably be embracing her pregnant body even more! She was more sure than ever that her Halloween costume would be a hit, and she had nothing to be anxious about. Sue spent the rest of the day providing excellent patient care, her pregnant glow warming the hearts of all of her patients.
