First off, the first half was VERY funny. I enjoyed pretty much all of it, even when it became clear that Tulip and One-One were Doing A Bad. The second half, though...that conjured a lot of complicated emotions in me. Not bad ones, I liked it, but I liked it for completely different reasons. It hit me hard; the need to fix things you’ve screwed up, or that you just think you’ve screwed up, is something I struggle with on a regular basis. The compulsion One-One dealt with...while it’s obviously in a more science-fictiony context, there’s parts of it that really hit home.
We also got a few more little tidbits for the mystery of the Train. What is One-One? I have some guesses, but the answers will come later. Not too much later, though--there’s only four episodes left in the series. A part of me wants to say that that’s far too few for something this good, but in reality it’s good that they made exactly as much show as they think the story needs. I’m really looking forward to the rest of it.
The Unfinished Car comes in at my new #1 for the series, about on par with The Cat’s Car. The latter was hard-hitting in different ways--not worse ones, but I found this episode to be slightly above it.
Up next is going to be Episode 7 of Infinity Train, The Chrome Car. I’ll see you all Friday for that one.
