Infinity Train episode 3--The Corgi Car!

My feelings on this one are mixed, though not for any quality reasons. The episode was fine; great, even. The picture we’re painting of the Train itself is tantalizing. It’s just that it’s basically the same episode as the pilot, and thus didn’t feel fresh for me. There’s not actually anything wrong with that–it’s a strong episode–but my enjoyment suffered a little from liveblogging something I’d seen some of already.
I am excited to have Winston Zeddemore along for the ride.
That monster, though. Oof. That was good stuff. And “get back to your seat”? I’m wondering if the thing really is malfunctioning. And…it ran away when One-One showed up. The little ball is more important than he seems, it seems.
As a subjective ranking of my enjoyment, and NOT an objective ranking of the episode’s quality, The Corgi Car comes in at my new #3 for the series. I’m ranking it about on par with The Beach Car–neither had the truly hard-hitting, real emotional moments of The Grid Car, and only The Corgi Car had a level of delightful horror that came close to the dogroaches and hellscape of The Grid Car. I liked them, but they didn’t pull at me the same way as episode one.
Tomorrow I’m likely not going to liveblog–today’s was to make up for that, because I’m going to (probably) have a tooth or two out and thus really won’t be up to a liveblog. Up next is going to be episode four of Infinity Train on Wednesday. I’ll see you then!
