Status of the Patreon - Making Some Changes
Added 2015-03-19 19:20:15 +0000 UTCI'm making some changes to the reward structure for the Patreon. The new reward levels look like this: $0.25 - You're a Patron! $0.50 - Curious Item Club $1.00 - Early Access $2.00 - Hangout Club $5.00 - Article Request $10.00 - Game Every 3 Months $25.00 - Game Every Month The key changes are that the thresholds for the Curious Item Club and the Hangout Club have been lowered. (They were previously $2 and $3 respectively.) This change is mostly about letting more people benefit from these reward levels. I think the Hangout Club will also be a better experience overall if the pool of people who can participate is slightly larger. I recognize that this could easily result in the overall pledge for each post decreasing in the short term if everybody adjusts their pledges, but I think it results in a better Patreon experience overall. I still feel like there should be some sort of reward at $3 to bridge the gap between the $2 and $5 levels, but I haven't been able to come up with anything that makes sense. (Lemme know if there's something that would get you excited about pledging at that level.)
