RJ Ramblings

Hey everybody!

Kinda had another rough week last week, between feeling sick, and having some car and financial issues. But, I'm feeling better now, I fixed my truck, and the financial issues are already getting better. So things are going pretty okay right now!

Besides working on the game, I kinda got back into Magic: The Gathering over the weekend. If you don't care about Magic and my relationship with it, probably can skip this Ramblings, as that's what I'm gonna ramble about today lol.

I don't know if I've ever talked about it here, but I used to play competitively. I tried for a while to get into the Magic Pro Tour, traveled around to major events, took part in many big tournaments. Did pretty well, but didn't quite make it. I stopped playing right before the pandemic. I wasn't a big fan of some of the changes that Wizards had been making with Magic, I had gone to a couple events where I felt very unsafe, and I just didn't want to be around many of the players anymore. Then comes the pandemic, and it didn't feel safe to actually play anywhere. THEN I started working on the game and I just didn't have time to play Magic at all.

I have a bit more free-time now than I did at the beginning of making this game. I have gotten into a good rhythm in working on the game, where I work for the first part of the day and still have free time in my evenings. And I got that craving to play Magic again - the new sets and upcoming sets look soooo cool. Wizards has gone back to caring about their story again as well, which is nice.

I still don't feel comfortable going to events again, or playing with other people, so I'm going to stick to playing online. This also helps to where I'm not spending TOO much time with the game, as I can easily get sucked in. Trying my best to stick to playing casually and not competitively.

Anyways, if anybody else here plays Magic on Magic: Arena, feel free to jump into my Discord sometime and exchange usernames with me, and maybe we can play sometime. Was thinking about setting up a sort of game night if I get enough people interested.

Okay, that's it! Hope ya'll have a great week! Love ya!
