2023-02-10 23:07:38 +0000 UTCMisogyny runs rampant within transphobic movements. It's never been about women's rights, it's always been about seeing women as weak and needing protected against men. Women within the movement have been successfully convinced that they are weak, and useless, and thus need to always be protected, even if that protection is from fantastical, illogical fears. Tbh, I can't even look at stories from the UK any more. Glasgow is my home town, and I look at my move to Canada as an escape. I'm currently looking forward to when I get my Canadian citizenship so I can have a party and burn my British passport. They failed me and are currently failing every single trans person unfortunate enough to be trapped there today. They'll never get my forgiveness.

In other news, there is a Vice article about how the hospital that provides care to trans kids is scheduled to close in two months amid plans to roll out care on a regional basis. However doctors are saying that the government has done next to nothing to make this happen, and estimate at least 6 months until that might happen. It feels like they are just going to extend waiting lists. This should be all over the press but all we see is ideological capture of this type. https://www.vice.com/en/article/bvm98d/tavistock-centre Mainstream media is just too happy to platform gender critical voices, and those trans voices who feature are treated in such an appalling way - just like India Willoughby was. It makes me despair! 😖
