Reflecting on the Kelvin Timeline's Legacy

The Kelvin Timeline may be done (for now) but let's reflect on the  legacy it's left behind and the projects that may still be ahead.

Reflecting on the Kelvin Timeline's Legacy

JJ’s works in general end up relying too heavily on nostalgia so once he uses that up his one-trick pony is exposed. Hopefully he’s overlooked for a lot of stuff but I suspect he could sit back and not have to work another day if he wanted to

Oop Im a huge derp. It was showing as taken down in the playlist but I found it. πŸ˜… thanks Jessie πŸ’œ

Agreed on Star Wars. I enjoyed ep 9 but it really ruined the trilogy as a whole.

Yay! I'm so glad people liked the patreon rap at the end, I thought it would be fun. And thank you, I'm sorry that the Beyond video had that happened <3 Sending you love

In Kelvin, my love of Trek collided heavily with my strong dislike anything JJ Abrams touches. I tried to like it, but couldn't. Yet on some level I'm still glad it exists, as it revived the franchise at a time it looked almost dead, and for that I am glad. (I still kinda wish JJA had never touched Star Wars, however. The mess that is Episode IX ruined the new trilogy for me, completely.)

Your Beyond video got yeeted by some asshat. I hope to see it sometime so hopefully its not in too much trouble that you can’t contest whatever happened easily. Good videos but more importantly your Patron rap was amazing and kept me watching to the end. Never stop being fun. πŸ’œ

Haha, I was going for a lens flare but it ended up being really distracting haha. And thank you so much for your kind words!

wonderful video, very heartfelt and well said. Star Trek was always around my house when i was growing up, with my whole family being fans to some extent, my earliest memories i already knew Trek, i remember looking over the technical manuals before i even knew how to read. i agree that Trek needs to have a welcoming on-ramp for new generations of fans, and the Kelvin movies were that. i remember at the time in 2009 being thankful that the new timeline was baking into the premise that it was an off-shoot of the original timeline, and not just writing over the original adventures. it allowed new people in without the baggage of having to know all the deep lore, but the deep lore was still there to those who wished to go there. and the spot of light on your head during the video, i'm going to assume you were going for the Dramatic Kirk Eyelighting(tm) heh!

Splendid work, Jessie. Thank you so much!

Aw, Jessie...this makes my heart ache. I guess I hadn't faced that the Kelvin films are dead-ended., and I'm watching my most beloved crew die again. Such a noble effort. Bur innabway, the Kelvin films and All Access have disproved a major fan assertion: that if Trek were ever given the Cadillac treatment, it would set the world on fire. But it hasn't. It's for us and it's up to us to make the most of it we can.

haha I'm glad you enjoyed <3

Watching this now. This is really good. Edit: stay to the end. The very end. Worth it.
