Johnny, this is really the first time I’ve reached out to you outside of youtube comments. I have been watching you wince SGB’s Left 4 Dead review where you wore the Michael Myers mask. I jumped on this $10 immediately, because even though we have never met, I feel like I know you. You are a close friend to me. I’ve never watched a youtuber as long as I have you. Since if first started watching you, I’ve graduated high school, graduated college, gotten married, and had my first child. You’ve been there through all of that. It’s been a crazy long time. I'm sure that I'm echoing a lot of people here but I've been watching you for years I might be one of those middle school kids whose parents weren't watching what watched lol. But you're content has gotten me through a lot of growing years with amazing quality and funny videos. Your brand of humor and approach to content has always kept me wanting to see more from when I first saw SGB playing Scott Pilgrim to awsome series like L.A Noir, Persona 1 & 2, and more. I wasn’t waiting around for you to make a Patreon but the minute I saw your announcement I jumped to support immediately. There was only one other content creator who I supported before you and I know that you’d deliver because you consistently make quality videos year after year even without this service. Your reviews are so genuine and they’re made with a level of care that I rarely see. Your videos are more about giving an honest breakdown about what the game is about and what your feelings are. Wish I could say I started with a Metroid review, aka my stories, but that is not the case. After the usual skirmishing with space pirates, that old chestnut, I was left without power on my gunship. I've been following your stuff for seven years now and you quickly became one of my favorite creators on the platform. You've always had a style and delivery that I've always very much appreciated, but there was also quite a bit of overlap regarding the game series we grew up playing, particularly Metroid and Sonic. While I had listened to reviews and discussions of these games countless times, your coverage of them just resonated with me. Since then, I always set aside time to check out your new videos when they come out, and I'm still amazed that you've been able to retain the qualities that made me a fan in the first place to this day. Hey John. I first die or weed your videos when I was about 13–14 years old. so about 2014 or 15. It was a time in my life when I was extremely lonely and depressed. I was living in a controlling home, with an abusive mother. And your videos made me happy in that time. I discovered you through sonic of course, but quickly began to see just how many games and franchises I had been missing out on. Zelda, Metroid, as well as so many indie games such as A hat in time, or Octodad. To this day, when I am feeling stressed, or sick to my stomach at night due to anxiety. I will put on one of your videos to help calm me down. Old or new it doesn’t matter. The donkey king 64 review is a new favorite. Lonely nights in a new town as a middle schooler, heart broken days as a high schooler, to fun relaxed evening as a worker, you videos never failed to make me smile or give me some comfort. Of course I had to sub to the Patreon! Never have I admired and enjoyed a channel much as I have yours. So thank you John. For everything. I look forward for the years to come. You're probably my favourite youtuber. The first video of yours I saw was the sgb metroid II review way back. It made me buy the game and I've been a big metroid fan ever since. I grew up in a small Swedish rural village with about 500 inhabitants, and the few kids there all had an xbox 360 or ps3. While I occasionally played the latest cod, fifa or nhl like they did, I also played games like castlevania, mario and metroid - thanks to you. You've been such a big part of my adolescence, made me laugh and introduced me to so many good video games, I often fell asleep to your videos too :') You've certainly become much better as a content creator over the years but the nostalgia I feel for the older videos is golden^^ I also actually learnt quite a lot of English when I watched your videos as a kid too. Johnny, I've been a huge fan since Countdown to Generations. Though I first found your main channel with Month of Sonic 2. I've watched SCMJ, SGB and BSC for over half of my lifetime. At the time, I felt I was the only person I knew who still really cared for Sonic, Mario, etc while all the other kids played FPS' that I sucked at and didn't care nearly as much for. You and those guys helped me feel like I had friends for a long time, people I could actually relate to in terms of the games I like. I tried so many new games and learned to appreciate those I grew up with because of you all. And above all, you provided a huge distraction and comfort, in some of the worst times of my life. I rememberwatching you here and there during the Sonic marathon, but the Minecraft video is what really got me interested in your channel. The way you described games made me open up my eyes more on video games as a whole. And then the Mega Man marathon solidified me as a fan of your channel. I've been watching your stuff since the "19 Years and Counting - A Sonic the Hedgehog Q&A" video, which means it's been 12 years. I was in high school when I came across your channel, which means I've been watching your videos for over a decade now. You're one of the most real dudes on the platform and I've not regretted a second watching you, SGB or Brainscratchcomms. I found you through ClementJ64, who’s obsession with City Escape Act 1 from Sonic Generations led me to your review, and soon enough it snowballed from there. Of course I wasn’t always in the right mindset or that considerate of others some time ago, but I have been working on it making sure I don’t go down that road again. I've been watching your videos since elementary school, grew up a huge Sonic fan and that's how I found you. As soon as you announced your Patreon, I subbed to the highest tier. I've binged your channel, SGB, BSC, so many times over and over again. I don't want to trauma dump all over these Patreon comments, but to put it simply, you & the SGB/BSC crew have been very comfortable sources of light in some of the deepest depths that I have found myself in over the years. For me, that goes well beyond being worth $10 a month to support. I didn't care about any of the perks per tiers, I just want to support your endeavors as much as I reasonably can. I wish you nothing but tremendous success and luck in the coming years!

First time I watched you was the Sonic '06 video, I was probably around 12 years old, but I started consistently watching you around the Smash Bros. Video, I know it was before you changed the thumbnail format for the Splatoon video for that "Era". I'm almost 21 now and your videos helped me out so much in my early years of college and continue to help me in my 2nd half. Your videos are basically my comfort food, whenever I'm feeling stressed or anxious (Which was basically my entire freshman year of college), I'll just put on a Johnny Vs. Video and let them ease my worries. Hell I would (and still do a good bit) put on your videos as background noise to fall asleep to, you're the only content creator I consistently still watch besides maybe Scott The Woz but even then I know I haven't watched ALL of his videos. It's been crazy watching you grow as a creator, and once I heard you were making a Patreon, I HAD to support it. It's my way of paying you back for all the hours upon hours of my life and sleep that would've been that much more horrible if it weren't for you. The Dark Roast Patron benefits are an awesome bonus, but I'm so glad I'll be able to support you in whatever way I can.

If I had to offer up a reason why so many people were gung-ho to support you, it's because the quality of your work shines very brightly and then some. I've been following you since 2011 and the love I have for your reviews and your work knows no bounds. Your work holds up so well, both your review channel and the work you did with the SGB LPs. You have no idea how often I go back to old SGB playthroughs knowing full well the channel is now defunct. I can recite the entire first part of the Mortal Kombat 9 LP on command, I've watched it that many times. When I have trouble sleeping at night, the Batman Forever LP still makes me laugh and provides comfort. The amount of passion and dedication you put into your craft is incredibly inspiring and I could only hope to make something half as good as you someday. I've never given to a Patreon faster in my life. You deserve every penny coming your way. What you've built is a testament to what creativity and a true love for what you do can get you. I'm sure I speak for many when I say that you're a hell of a guy and I'm happy to throw some bucks into the pot if it means you get to continue doing something you really love.
