originally i was going to draw and animate the avatar all myself but, simple though it may look, the devil is in the details when it comes to perfectly capturing the mii style without it looking janky. also i thought the mixed media approach would look better and save time, so its a win win as far as i'm concerned.
this was directly inspired from doing this pretty much verbatim with a friend - i've had an idea like this for ages but with maple being the one doing the character creation. there's some background music and sfx but i'm linking the .gif version here out of copyright precautions. you can check it out with sound over here!
