Courting AU Zagreus who's got his headboard shelves full of Ares' letters and gifted trinkets.

Zag gets his letters mid-run through the boon portals. Doesn't want to rush through reading them so he tucks them away. Parchment burning at his hip as he fights through Hades.

Once home, sitting in bed, settled in and ready to read the newest letter

At this point Zagreus has never made it to the surface and Ares knows this, wants to help,,, ease the yearning to break out. Gifting Zag anything the Prince might find interesting from the surface that he would otherwise not have had the chance to experience.

Ares taking the time to write about what he sends, a story ready to hold him over until they can talk again.

It might be a bit ooc but I'd think it's still tied to him being the god of War, offerings made to Ares himself or spoils from his latest campaign. Ares likes to boast about his victories at times and Zag hungry for any stories about the surface
