The Misery: District Zero

They call their turf The Misery—flood-bent boardwalks, cracked seawalls, and stacked shanties welded to shipping crates. Street grids here blink like a dying heart; power spikes roll in on the tide. The megacorps wrote it off as “statistically unsalvageable,” then forgot to tell the people who lived there. The Posse didn’t arrive as conquerors—they condensed out of fear, faith, and necessity: dock hands guarding food lines, street medics shielding black-clinic patients, mesh-pirates keeping predatory lenders off the local net. Charity met violence; mutual aid hardened into sovereignty.

At the center stands Pepe Gede: hacker-priest, purple hat, laugh like broken glass in sugar. He paints vevé across the district in AR—sigils only visible to those running the Posse’s lens pack. To outsiders it’s graffiti. To the Posse it’s Loa-as-algorithm: soul-keys braided into encryption, ward circles that double as mesh relays, “seance servers” that turn funeral drumming into burst-mode data syncs. Rumor says Pepe can “mount” a hostile for a heartbeat—riding their neuralware long enough to freeze a trigger or force a confession into every nearby billboard. Myth? Malware? The VooDoo Posse treats the distinction as irrelevant; belief is a weapon.

Human Interface Proxy War - a skirmish game in cyberpunk reality

Human Interface: Proxy War is a cyberpunk miniatures skirmish game, in which two or more Players compete against each other by leading Strike Teams of Characters on the neon-lit, rain-soaked streets of the future: Hackers, Ronins and Uberboys with heavily cyber-modified bodies, battling it out in the streets for control over assets and cybernetic networks, using their wits, guns and cyber decks. Proxy War takes advantage of the cards that we include for each month, thanks to them navigation and playing become much more intuitive, the table gets organized, and building Strike Teams is much easier. Rules are free online.!
