In all honesty you might want to look at how companies are using Print On Demand now with books. A good more recent example is Wyrd-Games and Malifaux. They're using Wargamevault / DriveThruRPG / DriveThruCard to handle having their books and cards printed out in multiple formats on demand. There's a small delay but tbh have been using it for some other wargaming books as well. Their small format Hardback is handy as well.
