Developer's Journal 2:33
Added 2023-06-04 05:53:25 +0000 UTCHey everybody, still working on the update, not finished yet. So close and yet so far away.
The update should be ready for release in early July, although as I mentioned before it's possible I could end up with an animation bottleneck depending on my animator's schedule. So far he's posed two animations for me and there are seven left for him to pose. He has other games he is working on as well, but he believes he can get my animations done on my schedule so fingers crossed for that.
Animations are sort of a funny topic. There are some really great games being made that don't use them and yet I see some players that will automatically dock a star in their review simply for not having animations. These players would rather see janky animations than no animations. "Great game, perfect in every way except no animations so four stars." I really don't think that's fair, considering even when they are used animations take up less than a fraction of a percent of actual playtime. But people like what they like, and as a game developer I take the market as it comes. And the animator I've hired does good work so I think these will be worth it even if it means the release is pushed back a couple of weeks.
That's all for this week. Thank you for your support!

I wouldn't think less of LDNA if it came with no animations. Some of my most intense AVN experiences have been with AVNs that had no animations. But I guess people are looking for different things in AVNs, and I can only imagine how difficult it is to navigate through all the different, sometimes even conflicting, demands.
