Shading guide: what do you want to see?

Hello everyone!

We’re working with LyinArt, whose done several illustrations like the chocolate-covered Bee, to do a shading process guide.

What would be helpful for you? We’re thinking a simple pose with various light sources, and tips like what kind of shadows are formed, when to blur vs hard edge your shadows.

Looking forward to your input :)

Good to hear it’d be helpful!

That sounds great. I always have trouble understanding how light and shadows work with people.

Alcoada

that works for sure!

We could write about some recommended resources for that to include with the artwork then!

so far in my art journey i haven’t actually picked a define light source and or used shading in the best way. I only say shade where i think it should go. I’m not really sure where it would go to be honest

Multiple sources of light definitely!

I would be interested in seeing a pose with an above light source and then same pose with a light source say from the bottom. Hypothetically you could do a full sphere of sources and how they affect the body
